New and Returning Scouts -- Registration and Payment for 2017

 

Pack 6 families (New and Returning Cub Scout Families)!   If you haven't completed Registration 2017, there is still time!  Come join us!!  

Registration 2017 paperwork is on our website - click on "Registration Docs 2017-2018". This includes the Medical/Health forms (A&B), completing the 2017 Pack 6 Permission Form and paying your BSA and Pack 6 Dues.  

All New Cub Scouts (if you haven't already registered) will need an additional form (BSA Youth Information Form) available from David Brown (dbrownpack6@mindspring.com).  

Payments can be made through Paypal -- click on "Online Payments" on our website to pay or you may pay by check to "Pack 6 BSA" and give to David Brown or your Den Leader.

Come Join Us For Our First Campout of the Year!!! Woodruff Scout Reservation on Sept 29 - Oct 1, 2017

We are kicking off the 2017-2018 Scout year with our annual Pack 6 Family Camping Trip.  The family camping trip is a great way to reconnect with other Cub Scouts, Parents and Families after the summer break, and for new Scout families to get acquainted as they start their first year.

Where: Camp Woodruff 31 Woodruff Dr, Blairsville, GA 30512 Campsites #20-22 

Robert Woodruff, president of the Coca Cola company from 1923 until 1954, donated the 1575-acre (637-hectare) camp property adjacent to Lake Notley and the Chattahoochee National Forest. Woodruff Scout Reservation is visited by Troops from all over the southeast for life-changing, memory-making, adventure-taking camping. It is a sought after location with cool temps, gorgeous mountain views, and whitewater rafting nearby.  Woodruff hosts eight weeks of Boy Scout Summer Camp and thousands of campers on the weekends throughout the year.

When: Friday 29 September 2017 (5:00p) – Sunday 1 October 2017 (12:00p)

Arrive and depart anytime. Many families come Saturday afternoon and leave Sunday morning.

Cost:  $5 for each cub scout;  $20 per Adult.

Tents Platforms are available for use at the campsite.  THEY DO NOT HAVE TENTS AS THEY'VE BEEN TAKEN DOWN FOR THE WINTER.   YOU MAY SET UP YOUR TENT ON THE TENT PLATFORM IF YOU WANT.   IF YOU DON'T HAVE AT TENT, LET US KNOW - WE HAVE A FEW TENTS AVAILABLE!!!!    Pack 6 will cook Dinner for everyone on Saturday night and Breakfast on Sunday morning.  Families will be responsible for their dinner on Friday night, breakfast and lunch on Saturday.

The Saturday Dinner on Friday night will be a low country boil with Corn, Potatoes and Kilbasa (Sausage).   We will also have BBQ - Pulled Pork for sandwiches.  We will have a vegetarian option as well.

Sunday morning breakfast will be eggs, pancakes, sausage and cinnamon rolls.

Registration OPEN for Spook-o-Ree at Lawhorn Scout Camp in Flint River Council!

WHAT
All Cub Scout families are invited to join us for the annual Spookoree.  The weekend will start off with a family movie night on Friday.  Saturday activities will include BB shooting, archery, pumpkin decorating, haunted trails, and more.  Don’t forget our special spooky campfire!  Bring your costume and be ready for a fun-filled scary weekend at Lawhorn!

New Parent Leaders Needed - Update 10/8

A well run Pack requires lots of Adult volunteers to make it go.  Come learn more about these and other roles at the Parent Leadership Meeting on Monday night @ 6:30pm. We are current seeking volunteers to take over the following roles:

September Core Value of the Month - Cooperation

Cooperation - Being helpful and working together with others toward a common goal. Cooperation is a key element in teamwork. Cub Scouts will gain a better understanding of the importance of supporting each other as they play games and learn new skills.

Pack 6 - First Pack Meeting! This Thursday, Sept 21 @ Fernbank Elementary School in the Cafeteria 6:30pm

Hello Cubs Scouts, Parents and Families,

As you may know, we have had to reschedule our first Pack meeting a couple of times.  It looks like we will finally have our first Pack Meeting this Thursday, September 21, 2017.

Our first Pack meeting will be at Fernbank Elementary in the Cafeteria from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  Scouts, please wear Class A uniforms!

We will also have registration materials available if you still need to register for Cub Scouts or complete any remaining registration information.

Start time is 6:30 p.m. sharp!  Come and be ready to go for a great meeting. We will welcome our many new Bobcat members and their families to Pack 6 as the highlight of our meeting.
