We will be camping at Gulf State Park (https://www.alapark.com/parks/gulf-state-park) in the heart of Alabama's beautiful emerald coast.  Our group campsite is reserved from Friday, March 13th through Sunday, March 15th.

Gulf State Park is a 5.5 hour drive from Atlanta, so most families will arrive Friday evening.  If you drive down on Saturday, you'd better leave early!

Itinerary

We will visit the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola (https://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/) on Saturday morning.  The National Naval Aviation Museum is the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida.  Share the excitement of Naval Aviation’s rich history and see more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation.  These historic and one-of-a-kind aircraft are displayed both inside the Museum’s nearly 350,000 square feet of exhibit space and outside on its 37-acre grounds.  Time permitting, we will visit the Pensacola Light House on the Naval base nearby the Aviation Museum.

There are lots of great activities for Saturday afternoon and evening, including , fishing from the Gulf State Park pier, biking the 25 miles of trails within the park, visiting the beach, bird watching, and seeing amazing sunsets.  Visit https://www.alapark.com/parks/gulf-state-park for more information about the activities available in the state park.  Definitely bring your bikes if you can.

Sunday will include a trip to Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile, Alabama to tour the USS Alabama, a WWII era battleship, and the USS Drum, a WWII era submarine (see https://www.ussalabama.com for more info).

Cost

$20 per person for camping both nights (this amount is paid directly to Pack 6 when you register through the Event Registration on the right side of this screen).

PLEASE NOTE:  The $20 per person does not include meals.  You will be on your own for meal costs - see Meals below.

Entry into the Naval Aviation Museum is free.

The USS Alabama is $4 per car for parking.  Entrance to the ship and submarine is $15 per adult (12 and over), and $6 per child (6 to 11).  If we have a group of 10 or more, those rates drop to $13 and $5.
